How to Find Product ID in Google Ads

Why product id is important for Google Ads

Product ID is important for Google Ads, particularly for Shopping campaigns and Performance Max campaigns for retail, for several reasons:

  1. Unique identification: Product IDs allow Google to uniquely identify each item in your product feed, ensuring that the correct product information is displayed in ads.
  2. Accurate tracking: With unique product IDs, Google can accurately track impressions, clicks, and conversions for each specific product, enabling better performance analysis.
  3. Product updates: When you update product information in your feed, the product ID helps Google match the new information to the correct item in your catalog.
  4. Ad relevance: Product IDs help Google show the most relevant ads to users based on their search queries and browsing behavior.
  5. Inventory management: Google uses product IDs to track inventory levels and automatically pause ads for out-of-stock items.
  6. Dynamic remarketing: Product IDs enable the creation of dynamic remarketing ads that show specific products users have previously viewed on your website.
  7. Shopping campaign organization: Product IDs can be used to organize your Shopping campaigns into product groups, allowing for more granular bidding and management.
  8. Feed quality: Consistent and accurate product IDs contribute to a higher-quality product feed, which can positively impact ad performance.

It is important to integrate Google Ads remarketing and conversion tracking with the correct product id format.
